A1 | Darebin Art Salon 2018

The A1 Darebin Art Salon celebrates art, expression and creativity within our community. Artists who live, work or study in the City of Darebin have been invited to present a new artwork in this exhibition. All artworks are wall-based, and no larger than A1 size. Displayed throughout every room of the Homestead, the Salon demonstrates the immense talent and diversity of creative expression in Melbourne’s inner north.

Are there any size restrictions?
Yes. Artworks must be the size of A1 or less.

 

My work needs to be pinned to a wall. Is that possible?
Yes, works can be pinned to the wall. Alternatively we have 3M/ magnets that can be used to display unframed works on paper.

 

What media is allowed?
Any media is allowed so long as it can be hung on a wall: i.e. painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, collage, watercolour.

 

Who can enter?
Artists may be of any age and must live, work or study in the City of Darebin. Artists entering the Salon do not need to be represented by a gallery.

 

Do I have to live in Darebin’s municipality to enter?
You must live, work or study in the City of Darebin.

 

Does it cost to enter?
No.

 

How many artworks can be submitted?
You may enter just the one artwork.

 

Is there a restriction on when the artwork was created?
Artists may enter original work created between 2016 and 2018.

 

Can I submit an artwork that has been shown before in another gallery?
Yes, artists may submit work that has already been shown. We recommend proposing a work that hasn’t been presented before at Bundoora Homestead Art Centre.

 

If an artist enters the Salon does it mean their works will automatically be exhibited?
Yes, so long as they meet the Terms and Conditions.

 

Will Bundoora Homestead Art Centre cover transport of the artwork (delivery/return)?
No. Transport is the responsibility of the artist.

 

When can I collect my work?
Finalists must collect their work on Monday 17th or Tuesday 18th of September, 2018 between 10am - 5pm. Finalists’ artwork is required to be shown for the duration of the exhibition.
