Jobs, Volunteers & Students

There are a number of ways that you can get involved with Bundoora Homestead Art Centre, take a look and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to give us a call or send us an email!

VOLUNTEERS AND STUDENTS

Volunteers and Interns are an important part of the Bundoora Homestead team.

They welcome guests, invigilate (look after) galleries, help out with special events and support us to complete special projects.

We couldn’t run the place without our wonderful volunteers and interns.

If you are interested in volunteering please email ([email protected]) or call us on 9496 1060.

Here are our current volunteer opportunities:

SPECIAL EVENT VOLUNTEERS

You’ll receive training to support the team when we have an exhibition opening, workshop, special event or open day.

Volunteers are trained in invigilating the gallery spaces, which means you look after the artworks and make sure no one is getting too close, and in customer service so that you can help out at the front desk. You might also be asked to assist with the cafe, help set up the event space or look after a special guest.

This role is ideal for someone who’d like to help out occasionally.

Please email or call if you would like to apply for this volunteer position.

CUSTOMER SERVICE VOLUNTEERS

You’ll help out regularly at our customer service desk, welcoming visitors, answering questions and conducting surveys.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants a regular volunteer role in the arts - you’ll be part of our team, meet lots of people and perhaps develop some new skills or confidence.

Please email or call if you would like to apply for this volunteer position.

HISTORY VOLUNTEERS

Many visitors are interested in the heritage house and gardens. We’re looking for volunteers who can attend a training history tour and then help guide visitors through the house and answer their questions.

This role is ideal for someone who’d like to help out occasionally.

Please email or call if you would like to apply for this volunteer position.

STUDENTS

We have limited capacity to offer internships and work experience but we are happy to respond to enquiries from students interested in art gallery opportunities. We give priority to tertiary students studying arts management, curatorship, visual arts, or a related field who are able to commit several hours a fortnight for 3 months or more.
