HANNA TAI | THIS COULD WORK!/I’M SCARED

1 February 2020 - 5 April 2020

The decision has been made to close Bundoora Homestead Art Centre until further notice, and therefore this exhibition has closed early. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The health and wellbeing of our visitors, staff and the broader community is our first priority. Please visit darebin.vic.gov.au for regular venue and service updates or call Council on 8470 8888.

THIS COULD WORK!/I’M SCARED explores everyday experiences, thoughts and observations in relation to the unfamiliar unknowability of the climate crisis. Using photography, video, sound and installation, Tai investigates the interconnectedness of big and small things, and the possibilities in collectivising individual gestures.

This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body.

Tai has asked for visitors to consider donating money to the Firesticks Alliance, an Indigenous led organisation that works with communities, land and fire agencies, and organisations across Australia on both cultural burns and contemporary fire management practices. Firesticks Alliance is raising money to train and mentor more than 100 cultural fire practioners with fire management and emergency response skills right across Australia. All country is different and locally appropriate cultural protocols and fire regimes are the key to success.
