Is there a cost to enter the gallery?

Bundoora Homestead Art Centre is free to visit! All are welcome. Occasionally we have paid events, which you can find here.

I have access requirements, is Bundoora Homestead an accessible building?

Bundoora Homestead Art Centre has a lift to access the first floor, and accessible bathrooms. Please note, some pathways outside the building have gravel. Do not hesitate to get in touch with us prior to your visit and we can provide specific information about our amenities.

Can I make a reservation for the Café?

Yes! Please call (03) 9496 1060  or email us at bundoorahomestead@darebin.vic.gov.au to make a booking.

We’d like to bring a large group to the Café, is that possible?

Due to our capacity, we recommend booking for all number of visits to the café. For groups of 6 or more please contact us directly for more information. 

Can I take photographs?

You’re more than welcome to take photographs on site and of the works! For the safety of the artworks however we ask that you keep the flash switched off. Unfortunately, professional photography and recording is not permitted.

Will there be more drawing classes throughout the year?

We love our drawing classes! Currently, due to ongoing lockdowns, we are not scheduling regular drawing classes. Keep an eye on our newsletter and social media for one off announcements! We hope to be back to regular programming in 2022.

What are the dates of upcoming history tours and how do I book?

We are so pleased to hear you’d like to join us for a history tour! Due to recent and ongoing lockdowns our history tours are postponed. We suggest signing up to our newsletter and keeping an eye on your inbox for forthcoming announcements.

When the building is open to the public we have wonderful resources on site for you to learn more about the history of Bundoora Homestead, and our friendly staff are always available to try to answer your questions!

I would like to host a private event at Bundoora Homestead Art Centre, how can I do that?

Unfortunately, Bundoora Homestead Art Centre is not available for private events.

I would like to exhibit with Bundoora Homestead Art Centre, how can I apply?

We are so glad you are thinking of us for your exhibition proposal. We generally have a call for exhibitions every 12-18 months. These proposals are assessed by our Advisory Panel. Please note, our program has had significant disruptions due to COVID-19 rescheduling, and as such our call for exhibitions has been delayed. We recommend keeping an eye on social media for forthcoming announcements.

When is the next Darebin Art Prize? When is the next A1 Salon?

The Darebin Art Prize and A1 Salon take place on alternate years. You can see upcoming exhibitions here. If you’d like to be notified as to when calls for submissions are for either exhibition we suggest signing up to our email newsletter.

Do you have to live in Darebin to have an exhibition? Will someone buy my work?

You do not have to live in Darebin to exhibit with Bundoora Homestead Art Centre. We recommend signing up to our email newsletter for announcements regarding calls for exhibitions or other opportunities to present your work. We are not a commercial gallery, and as such do not handle sales of artworks on display.
