Held in conjunction with First World War commemorations, Legacy honours the Anzac centenary through a series of paintings inspired by Anzac Day marches from artist Mary Hammond together with historic photographs and memorabilia from the City of Darebin Art and History Collection.
The exhibition presents stories of military personnel connected to the Darebin municipality who served during the First World War. It also highlights Bundoora Homestead’s history as a convalescent farm and repatriation hospital. The hospital was established in 1920 by the Commonwealth Government for the rehabilitation of ex-servicemen suffering psychological trauma as a result of their military service.
