May 3, 2018 - June 17, 2018Crocodility is an ancient term for the deliberate use of unsound reasoning, derived from an enduring logic problem known as the Crocodile Paradox. Giving visual form to what is usually a literary device, this exhibition brings together a selection of paintings, sculptures, videos and new media works that reflect the slippery characteristics that we associate with the paradoxical. By examining the presence of circularity, contradiction, the absurd and dream logic in these artworks, the exhibition considers the role that paradox plays in the making and understanding of contemporary art.
The artists include: Dord Burrough, Ann Debono, Nicholas Ives, Tomasz Kobialka, Dan Moynihan, Aaron Christopher Rees and Marian Tubbs. Curated by Boe-lin Bastian.
