BUNDOORA NEBULA RESIDENCY #3
CLAIRE MOONEY & AMANI TIA
The Bundoora Nebula Residency offers the rare creative opportunity for artists to make new work at Bundoora Homestead or in the revolutionary custom built studio – Nebula. The residency involves two artists, of which one has a disability.
CLAIRE MOONEY
Claire Mooney has been a practising artist for the past 15 years, and has exhibited her work regularly in solo and curated shows. Her work explores concepts relating to pattern and abstraction, creating vibrantly coloured geometric paintings that make reference to text and textiles; encoding and craft; landscape and technology. Since 2006, Claire has been actively involved in the Melbourne ARI sector, at various stages acting as an administrator, gallery director, researcher, board and committee member, advisor and, most recently, Education Program Coordinator at BLINDSIDE.
AMANI TIA
Born 1969, Amani Tia is an emerging artist and a confident draughtsperson. Originally a figurative painter reworking iconic masters and images of pop culture icons, Amani has begun to focus his research and development on his Samoan cultural and family heritage. Since joining Arts Project Australia in 2013, Amani has demonstrated a distinct and passionate commitment to making art his vocation.
Claire and Amani will be making work at Bundoora Homestead Art Centre on the following days:
Wednesday 5 April, Thursday 6 April, Wednesday 12 April, Thursday 13 April, Friday 21 April, Saturday 22 April, Friday 28 April, Saturday 29 April
